Needless to say, the last few months have been like nothing any of us have experienced before. A global pandemic has turned the recruitment industry on its head, people are furloughed left, right and centre and businesses are consumed by the uncertainty of the future. However, it doesn’t have to all be bad news.
While things are quiet, now could be the perfect time to get your house in order before things return to some level of normality (whatever that may be) including reviewing your recruitment software supplier. But why now? Why is now the perfect time to change your CRM?
Your numbers have changed
730,000 workers fell from UK payrolls between March and July (The Guardian) so you can imagine how many businesses have had to make redundancies. For recruitment agencies, this affects the number of licences they have with their software supplier and can have implications on how much they are being charged, particularly if your supplier refuses to reduce your numbers. You might find that you’re having to pay more than you did before per user or maybe your supplier has drawn up a new contract for you which ties you in for longer, therefore, increasing your spend. Reviewing your software means you can see what other systems are out there which could be more affordable to you with a brand new contract where you don’t feel like you’re getting ripped off!
You need the cloud
With a huge number of employees working from home, it’s a no brainer that you need software in place which can accommodate people working remotely. Without cloud functionality, you may find your infrastructure more restrictive as staff must have their work PCs to gain access to their software rather than just being able to use their personal machine. You will also find that you may need a high spec server if you have a large group of staff working from home to ensure they can work efficiently without technical problems.
Cloud recruitment software can provide a reliable solution (depending on your internet speeds) to most problems that arise when your staff work from home so if you’re currently experiencing issues with efficiency, it’s probably a good time to review it. After all, you want your workforce to be as productive as possible, don’t you?
Time to start afresh
At a time like this where many businesses are understaffed or struggling, it is absolutely vital that you are running as efficiently as possible and your software will have a huge impact on that. Changing your recruitment CRM gives you the perfect opportunity to review your workflow and scrap any inefficient or unnecessary processes that otherwise, wouldn’t be improved. If you feel like your business is stuck in its ways then starting afresh with a brand new system and new and improved processes could be just what you need to kick start Q4.
Boost staff morale
It’s unsurprising that staff morale has probably taken a dip over the last few months but introducing a new CRM for them to get excited about could do a great job of boosting it. If consultants know they have an efficient system to work with, they will feel far more motivated and far less frustrated!
Now is as a good a time as any to review your recruitment software and with things quieter than usual in the recruitment industry, you have the time to put aside to ensure you do it properly!
