Something every Twitter account tries to do, whether they admit it or not, is grow organically. That goes for every other form of social media otherwise what would be the point in having it? When I say grow organically, I mean increasing the number of followers, likes and retweets naturally by using the following steps and without going to the dark side of buying them!
Engage with others
You’re going to find it very hard to get anywhere on Twitter without sharing the love with other accounts. You should use it to its full potential and network with other accounts no matter how big or small. Retweet anything which your own followers might find useful and always credit the original account to give them a shoutout! You’ll find that the more you engage with others, the more they’ll engage with you!
Mix up your content
Remember that people will get bored if they keep seeing the same handful of posts pop up every single day. You can change up your content by varying the media (e.g. use different images, videos, links, polls) and the types of post (e.g. promotions, blog posts, what your company is up to, sharing other Twitter accounts). This way there will always be fresh content on your feed for others to enjoy!
Hashtags
I’ve spoken about hashtags so many times before but they really are a great way for people to find your content (#RecruitmentCRM). It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out that the more people who see your tweets means the more likely you are to gain followers!
Share useful content
If you’re trying to attract job seekers to follow your account then there’s no point sharing blog posts about something which isn’t relevant to them. Instead, you could share something like ‘how to answer common interview questions’ which they are more likely to be interested in. This way, they will be far more likely to engage with the post and be interested in the rest of your feed.
Join Twitter chats
Twitter chats are one of the most underrated parts of social networking and they can do wonders for organic growth. If you don’t know what one is, it is essentially a chat about a certain topic between a group of users who meet at a specific time and use a designated hashtag. They’re one of the best ways to engage with industry experts and expand your brand, as well as gain Twitter followers!
A couple of chats you could get involved with are #RecHangout and #LinkedInChat!
If you try out these tips then slowly your follower count should start increasing and naturally, your engagement should improve as well! Just avoid purchasing followers or resorting to the follow/unfollow tactic which hardly ever pays off!
